My name is Vincent Stuart, and I'm in my third year at University College London, reading Theoretical Physics (MSci). Somehow I manage to fit my hobbies in between reading dry textbooks, and these are:
- Playing the cello - this seems to take up most of my free time. Here's a pic of me playing at the Royal Albert Hall this year. I'm currently in the UCL Symphony Orchestra who, along with the University College Opera, recently gave the first British performance of Bloch's opera Macbeth.
- Taking a keen interest in the aviation world (i.e. planespotting). I'm the proud owner of a Uniden BCT15 Scanner, Kinetic Avionics SBS-1 ADS-B/Mode-S Radar, a cheap spotting scope and a trusty old Yupiteru MVT-3300.
I am also a member of British Airways Virtual, a flight simulation based organisation affiliated to the real world airline.
- Taking a light-hearted interest in anything related to the worlds of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
- Water rockets (aka 'Wrockets'). It's impossible for someone not to have their imagination grasped by these wonderful contraptions! Check out a couple of videos of my secondary school's Science Challenge Day 2008 by navigating to the 'Water Rockets' page above.
